Good Food = Happiness! We love our members to be happy so we're going to give you some tips for buying food in Waterloo and some great places to grab a meal.
Just because you’re away from home doesn’t meet you can’t eat like you’re home! There are several places in Kitchener-Waterloo (KW) where you can get your fix of familiar tropical goodness.
Local Groceries and Stores
Being a student in Canada has its benefits!
Many stores across the country offer discounts to students through the SPC Card. You can find out what discounts are available and sign up here.
Many grocery stores in Waterloo offer discounts to University students (usually about 10% off your bill) on certain weekdays as well (SPC not required). Here are some stores and thier discount days:

In most grocery stores in Canada you can find a Caribbean food section with a few brands from the region!
St. Jacobs Farmer's Market
Located just outside of Waterloo in Woolwich. St. Jacobs Farmer's Market is a great place to get fresh produce, very often straight from local farms and bakeries! The Farmer's Market is open Thursdays and Saturdays.
A to Z Grocery
A cozy Caribbean and African grocery on the corner of Water St. and Victoria St. for those with culinary talent or anyone trying to find seasoning, snacks or drinks from back home :)!
Mi Tienda Latina
A Latin American grocery near Charles Street Bus Terminal. Another great location for anyone looking to get a taste of home or experiment in the kitchen!
Rainbow Caribbean Cuisine
By far the most popular place to pick up some Caribbean delicacies.
Dishes from Rainbow can also be found on campus in International News in SLC (Student Life Center), the Math C&D (MC 3rd Floor) and the Engineering C&D in CPH (Carl Pollock Hall).
Ellison's Bistro
A more elegant establishment, great for a charming date with a Caribbean twist! Check out their menu on their website!
